I’ve done a lot of site maintenance and design fiddling this week, so much so that I’ve barely had time for anything else.
So I’ve decided I’m having a break this weekend! Well, Sunday at least. I need to catch up on some sleep and shake off this cold that is seemingly refusing to go away.
I still have absolutely no idea what to do with my WordPress.com blog. I think it will sit there for a few days not doing much of anything at all while I think of something. I’m sure I’ll find a use for it in some way. Must admit I quite like the community features in the dashboard, with that in place it feels like a different kind of blog (apart from in the obvious way).
I used Livejournal for a little while ages and ages ago. While I liked the community features, I hated the look and the rigidity of it. Maybe WordPress.com will be the former but without the latter. Hope so.

Nice blog.I like this.

Yeah. Me too, Zenith.
So much technical stuff leaves
me weary at day’s end. I forget to

unwind, visit friends’ blogs
and then I forget to write
or, rather, I am too beat to write
Then I find one more
technical hitch in the blog
and I shake my head;
“Tomorrow,” I say
then I trudge off to bed
The next day the glitch is still there,
the blog elves didn’t fix it, and I spend
all day doing the same thing I did
yesterday
Nice seeing you.
Be well,
Father Luke
Nice seeing you too Father Luke!
By the way, Zenith . . .
I am porting my site to Textpattern using
Stuart’s port of Manji. Here is the test site:
http://www.FatherLuke.org/
I’ve noticed that you have a similar
situation going on with Rin.
I’m talking about the remember/forget
check box in text pattern. What’s that
called? The txp:comment_remember call.
The Remember box is there, but the Forget
box never shows up.
Have you figured out if there is a way to
forget in the comments?
You must know this, Zenith, the more I
looked at your adaptation of Stu’s Rin,
the more I wanted to use his Manji using
textpattern. You’ve done a really, really
nice job.
Okay,
Father Luke
Okay, I found it.
There is a call about halfway down
(aprox line 55 and 57)
txp:if_no_cookie
then, immediately following is
txp:if_cookie
without another call for the forget/remember
so, I then just added
txp:comment_remember
where I felt it was apropriate
and, Voila! I may be forgotten.
Seems like a lot of work, just so I may be forgotten.
I like it. . . (evil grin)
Okay,
Father Luke
Well you’ve found out more than I would have, I didn’t know there was a ‘forget’ option in TXP, I’ve always manually cleared the cookie in my browser when I’ve needed to do that.
You live and learn. :)
Test site is looking good!
